Adjusting Your Focus for the Future
Your future is right in front of you. Do you see it? Sometimes it is cloudy. Sometimes it is foggy. Other times it can even look dark and meek ahead. If this is what you see when looking toward your future, it is time to adjust your focus.
No future is perfect, but you should be looking intently at sunshine and rainbows when you look toward your future. After all, you are working hard to get there – why would you accept anything less?
- Positive thinking and a positive focus can help you reach a positive outcome. If your future needs anything from you, it is positivity. Focus on finding the silver lining in disheartening situations and embrace your mistakes.
- Know what you want and go for it. Make a point not to listen to those who try to bring you down.
- Plan for your journey. If you know where you are going, you likely know how you need to get there. So, plan for it. For instance, if you know that you will need to pass some tough classes next year, consider taking some prep classes over the summer. Or, if you know that you want to be a journalist, consider joining the school newspaper.
It is your future and your focus. Therefore, you are the only one that can view it and make it happen. Disregard negativity and keep your chin up. If you keep your eye on the prize, you will get there. Everything else can fall by the wayside.
