Keep the Fire Burning
This time of year, stress can skyrocket. You are coming back from a nice winter break to the downhill slope of the academic year. It is easy to get stressed out and overwhelmed as the pressure builds. After all, this is the time that you can either make or break your academic success. So, you must keep the fire burning at all costs!
Here are a few tips to keep you focused and on track for a happy ending:
- Get yourself organized. You know how much time you have left in the school year – and you know you have projects and papers that are due before it is over. Use a calendar or agenda to plan out these projects step-by-step. Breaking them down into chunks will make them easier to tackle than waiting until the last minute.
- Just as you organize your projects, do the same with studying. Exam time will be here before you know it – so be prepared as you go. Keep notes and note cards orderly so that you can effectively utilize them to study for your exams.
- If you know you need extra help, now is the time to get it. Don’t wait until you are too far behind or until its too late. Seek out the help you need to keep you on track with your classwork.
Perhaps the most important way to keep the fire burning is to take time for yourself. If you aren’t at your best, your academics won’t be, either. Schedule yourself time doing something you love and you will keep your mind fresh and focused when it comes to your academics.
