A Kick-Ass College Resume
So, by now you know that your education includes more than just your academics. What you do in your classes can be just as important as what you do outside of them. That means it is very important to make sure you have a well-rounded, fulfilled, resume.
Here are some of the things you will want to include:
- Your academics, especially if you have a GPA to be proud of, have taken any special classes, or any classes above and beyond the norm.
- Any extracurricular activities you may have participated in. While all activities can count for something, there are certain clubs and activities that stand out the most. For instance, debate team, academic teams and clubs, student government, any volunteer work or community service, and internships you have had.
- If you have received any academic honors or awards, be sure to include them on your resume. List your highest academic achievements.
- Leadership roles are incredibly important to list on your resume. It does not matter which club, organization, or activity it was – be sure to include all forms of leadership.
Include everything that you want someone to see, but keep it clear and concise. Adding too much detail can overload the paper, making it less pleasing to the eye – and less likely for someone to read.
Your resume is your story, telling a history of what you have done and how well you have done it. Keeping it full, keeping it neat, and keeping it well-rounded is how you can be sure to have a kick-ass college resume.
