Stop! Look! Listen! What are Your Academic Plans?
It is not only the beginning of a new year, but it is also the beginning of a new semester in school. And, it is the downslope to the school year. You made it over the hill – so now what? You need to…
- finish the semester.
- jump head first into your summer plans.
- face the fall with a golden attitude.
If you can’t confidently check all these off your list, then this is the time to prepare yourself for what is to come. As your friends and family are making resolutions about eating healthier or volunteering their time to charity in the new year, you need to take some time to focus on your academic plans. The beginning of a brand-new year is the perfect time to do this!
STOP what you are doing and take some time to LOOK at your future academic plans. LISTEN to what your gut is telling you to do, as well as your academic counselor, of course. Then, start making a plan. Get yourself organized for the year so you don’t waste any time!
Be sure to include every aspect of your education. Such as,
- SAT and ACT test prep.
- Summer internships or summer learning sessions.
- Create a timeline for completing college applications.
- Plan college tours.
- Search and apply for college scholarships.
- Work to increase your GPA or extracurricular activities.
There are so many things that you can do to get the most out of your academics. However, this can only happen if you plan!
